Because the Dutch fashion, interior design and textiles sector is both dynamic and demanding. This is becoming increasingly clear: more collections, more specific positioning, more flexible production and more critical customers mean that you have stay on your toes. Because you do not want to miss out, you want to concentrate on your core business and need the backing of a tried and trusted, independent partner familiar with your business. MODINT understands this attitude like no other and helps you with your business operations by providing up-to-date information, advice and services.
In practice, MODINT will undertake the following activities on your behalf:
- Co-operation in the textile clothing chain. Just like other forms of co-operation, this generates a great many logistic advantages. We play a leading role in the digitisation of the textile clothing chain, encourage our member to do business electronically and increase the efficiency of co-operation between supplier and buyer.
- International (political) measures, which result in a healthy trade balance and an honest competitive position. Now that more and more borders are opening all over the world, we are confronted with new opportunities and threats. MODINT keeps its ear to the ground and plays an active role in ensuring the best possible results for the sector as a whole and its members in particular.
- Investments in creativity, training, education and production. This is the bread and butter of our sector. It goes without saying that MODINT not only provides advice, it also takes (financial) action.
- Terms of delivery and payment. For transactions with Dutch buyers, our ‘NTKC’ terms and conditions are a household name and the most commonly used as a result. These terms and conditions were drawn up in consultation between the suppliers’ and buyers’ organisations and are standard terms and conditions. These are fixed agreements on a whole series of issues which would otherwise have to be arranged separately for every purchase or sale of clothing. Standard terms and conditions improve the clarity and efficiency of the trade and protect the legal position of both buyers and sellers.
- CBA problems. One of the cornerstones of the sector is a good collective bargaining agreement or CBA. We dedicate ourselves to achieving solid agreements that guarantee the continuity of the sector and protect the interests of its members. For example, MODINT recently contributed to the creation of a single CBA for the textile and ready-to-wear clothing industry, and we are also very interested in pension schemes.
- MODINT occupational health and safety. The prevention and minimisation of absenteeism and the reintegration of sick employees is an important issue. MODINT Arbo offers support specifically tailored to the branch and does so effectively, efficiently and with the necessary commitment. This service is easily accessible due to the automatic supply of data and online information on absenteeism.
- Safety. People come into contact with clothing and textiles all the time, and it goes without saying that the (fire) safety of these products is of paramount importance. The best way to achieve the required level of safety is a matter of discussion, however. MODINT discusses this matter with all those involved and strives for the introduction of regulations and the initiation of public information campaigns.
- Fair Wear. The improvement of working conditions in production countries is a hot social issue that is supported by many major shop chains as well as MODINT. We are, therefore, actively involved in the activities of the Fair Wear Foundation and we encourage our members to participate in this initiative.
- Collective schemes. MODINT promotes the interests of its members by offering them economies of scale. This extends from advantages in the area of legislation and regulations to market benefits (e.g. discounts on transport, energy and corporate insurance).
